10/6 - 11/17 - Making Sense of Martin Luther
This video and book driven faith formation series is written and presented by David Lose, former Luther Seminary professor and now senior pastor of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It explores the person and theology of Martin Luther, the reformer for whom our denomination draws its name and much of its theological perspective. There is no expectation that you have prior knowledge of the Bible, theology, or church history to participate in this study but lifelong Lutherans are also sure to get something out of this study as well. Just bring your questions and openness to talk about matters relating to Martin Luther and his understanding of the God we know in Jesus.
If you plan to join us, you will find it very helpful to have read the introduction and the first chapter of the book prior to the first session. But even if you haven't read the book ahead of time, come anyway. All are welcome! Copies of the book can be purchased in paperback or on kindle from Amazon.com. If you would like to participate in this study but cannot afford to buy this book just call Carola in the office: 252-338-6210 and we will see that you receive a copy of the participant book.
