Pastor Kim Carlson

Rev. Dr. Kimberly Carlson was called to and installed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in the Spring of 2016.  She comes to us in her second vocational calling, her first being a professor of bio- medical engineering at Duke University.  Good Shepherd is Pastor Kim's second call as a pastor.  She brings a wealth of life experience, intelligence, and compassion with her as she preaches, teaches, and provides pastoral care.  We are blessed by her leadership and example.

Minister Matt Brunoehler

Mr. Matthew Brunoehler began as Good Shepherd's vicar in August of 2017.  His vicarship (internship) lasts for one year so we have him till August of 2018.  This year, Vicar Matt is gaining valuable experience in preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and church leadership.  He is also a second career pastoral candidate coming to us after seven years as a Marine Corps artillery officer.  This internship is Vicar Matt's last requirement before he can graduate from Luther Seminary and apply for approval for ordination.

Karrie Chappell (Worship Minister)

Mrs. Karrie Chappell is the minister of worship here at Good Shepherd.  She plays the piano, organ, and sings beautifully, manages the church audio-visual suite, and worship plans with Pr. Kim and Vr. Matt.  She wears all these hats while also being a wife, mother of two, and administrator with the Currituck County School System.

Carola Matthews (Church Secretary)

Mrs. Carola Matthews has been the secretary at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church since 2006.  Originally from Germany, Carola and her husband Bobby settled in Hertford, NC after Bobby's 20+ year military career.  Carola manages the office hours at Good Shepherd, recruits volunteers for our ministries and worship leaders, and manages the church calendar/website/e-news.  If you call Good Shepherd during office hours, hers is the voice you will likely hear on the other end of the line.
