The Reverend Matthew Brunoehler (Interim Pastor)
Pastor Matt began as Good Shepherd's vicar in August of 2017 under Pastor Kim Carlson. His vicarship (internship) lasted for one year till August of 2018. A Coast Guard spouse, Pr. Matt remained in Elizabeth City on staff as Minister Matt on a part time basis till his ordination in May of 2019 and subsequent appointment as Interim Pastor in February of 2020. Pr. Matt is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and Luther Seminary. Pastor Matt is honored and excited to be the Interim Pastor of Good Shepherd through this time of transition as we go about the process of finding the next pastor God has intended for this place.
Karrie Chappell (Worship Minister)
Karrie is the minister of worship here at Good Shepherd. She plays the piano, organ, and comes with a wealth of experience in teaching and directing vocal and instrumental performance. Karrie manages the church audio-visual suite during worship and is an integral part of the worship planning process with Pastor Matt for all that happens at Good Shepherd on Sundays and other occasional services. She is a vital part of the Good Shepherd team and we are fortunate for all the ways she realizes her ministerial calling here.
Carola Matthews (Church Secretary)
Carola has been the secretary at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church since 2006. Originally from Germany, Carola and her husband Bobby settled in Hertford, NC after Bobby's 20+ year military career. Carola manages the office hours at Good Shepherd, recruits volunteers for our ministries and worship leaders, and manages the church calendar/website/e-news. If you call Good Shepherd during office hours, hers is the friendly voice you will likely hear on the other end of the line.
